In the 67th minute of the match Hartmann Futebol Clube got a corner. SC Braga's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jefferson Oliveira came out of the goal and Stig-Åke Mattsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Hartmann Futebol Clube made a substitution. Jan Piatek replaced Faas Romário. SC Braga made a substitution. Antonio Cieri replaced Benjamin de Lara. In the 80th minute the ball was on its way in behind Hartmann Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Jefferson Oliveira, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jefferson Oliveira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antonio Cieri in the 85th minute of play. 87 minutes into the match, Zigmantas Gimbutas notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Hartmann Futebol Clube's Jefferson Oliveira. Jefferson Oliveira was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
