Eriberto Miranda might have been able to make a better finish in the 2nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Benedito Trigo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eriberto Miranda ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eriberto Miranda in the 3rd minute of play forced Sagarana Clube's goalkeeper Benedito Trigo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vasco Goycochea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Éder Madureira in the 6th minute of play. Eriberto Miranda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Benedito Trigo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Sagarana Clube's Zé Roberto da Costa got a free kick in the 10th minute. Sagarana Clube's Benedito Trigo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eriberto Miranda in the 12th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Beto Heidemann in the 13th minute of play forced ҜƗŇǤ ŁƗØŇ Ř€Đ βŁΔĆҜ's goalkeeper Vasco Goycochea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match clock showed 15 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Yu Yang Sang sped through ҜƗŇǤ ŁƗØŇ Ř€Đ βŁΔĆҜ's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Vasco Goycochea. An unexpected shot in the 17th minute by Ronaldo Cosme got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Vasco Goycochea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Éder Madureira in the 19th minute of play. 22 minutes had been played when some careless play by Sagarana Clube's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ronaldo Cosme was slow to take the kick. During this time ҜƗŇǤ ŁƗØŇ Ř€Đ βŁΔĆҜ's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Ronaldo Cosme almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Sagarana Clube's Benedito Trigo did a great save. A sloppy throw-in by Rupert Dearden in the 27th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by ҜƗŇǤ ŁƗØŇ Ř€Đ βŁΔĆҜ's Andriy Kaká. A nice corner shot did that Serafim Barros got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Vasco Goycochea quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Eriberto Miranda struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Benedito Trigo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ҜƗŇǤ ŁƗØŇ Ř€Đ βŁΔĆҜ. After 35 played minutes ҜƗŇǤ ŁƗØŇ Ř€Đ βŁΔĆҜ got a freekick which was hit by Boniel Sovera. Rupert Dearden made in the 39th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Fábio da Cunha however managed to control. After 43 minutes of play, Sagarana Clube's Yu Yang Sang made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vasco Goycochea was left in no man's land by his defense there! The audience was convinced that Eriberto Miranda's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benedito Trigo was relentless in the 68th minute of the game.
