In the 43rd minute Doriva Tavares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arlindo Guedes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 45 minutes into the match, AF CERRADO's goal looked a bit too open when Doriva Tavares came free, but Arlindo Guedes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Antônio Carlos Bueno stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Capivara FC booed when AF CERRADO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antônio Carlos Bueno didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Neycho Mudrov in the 83rd minute of play forced AF CERRADO's goalkeeper Arlindo Guedes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. AF CERRADO's Arlindo Guedes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manoel Garrincha in the 87th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Thiago Damião in the 95th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Péter Pálffy saved Capivara FC from getting behind. Thiago Damião kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. A collision led to AF CERRADO getting a freekick after 97 minutes play. Antônio Carlos Bueno hit a great ball. Dominik Lanckneus took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 97th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Arlindo Guedes. AF CERRADO's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line.
