Mark Kovalev hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. With a little luck, MarquinhosEC's Matei Răducu got control of the ball when Mario Yepes tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ricki Dresager blasted a shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Matei Răducu having to make a save. After the first half MarquinhosEC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Harm de Freitas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Matei Răducu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ricki Dresager in the 51st minute of play. MarquinhosEC's Matei Răducu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ricki Dresager in the 55th minute of play. Matei Răducu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ricki Dresager, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Vágner Porto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bran Allison having to interfere. Cactos made a substitution. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fausto Di Blasio got free with Bran Allison in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 95th minute Luisinho Maciel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Matei Răducu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Matei Răducu came out of the goal in the 95th minute to try and stop a shot by Cactos's Luisinho Maciel. But to his dismay, Luisinho Maciel quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3.
