Joinville City - FSCMZ's Marius Mititel quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Jeremy Nicholas didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Geovanildo Luis went, in the 8th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. A collision led to New England Minas getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Roman Major hit a great ball. In the 11th minute, Geovanildo Luis left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Joinville City - FSCMZ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. New England Minas's António Nóbrega quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Karsten Ulbak, made in the 14th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, New England Minas's Xiao Bang Kun got a free kick in the 16th minute. When New England Minas's Edgardo Silva in the 19th minute got a chance for a shot 19th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. New England Minas were awarded a corner in the 25th minute after Joinville City - FSCMZ's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Glen Conklin took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Glen Conklin got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Haji Sarap quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Antonio Valente kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Jeremy Nicholas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from João Francisco Arce in the 27th minute of play. Tony Pacheco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. A throw-in in the 35th minute of the game was made by Xiao Bang Kun with Edgardo Silva as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Haji Sarap showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oscar Nordmark in the 39th minute of the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Geovanildo Luis made a kick off. Haji Sarap took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edgardo Silva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Haji Sarap was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Tony Pacheco showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-1 in the 64 minute of play. Joinville City - FSCMZ's Adhemar Santos was substituted for João Francisco Arce. Joinville City - FSCMZ made a substitution. Marcus Allbäck replaced Geovanildo Luis. Haji Sarap made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Oscar Nordmark sent off a good shot on target. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Adhemar Santos in the 78th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jeremy Nicholas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 80 played minutes New England Minas got a freekick which was hit by Tony Pacheco. New England Minas made a substitution. Tio Lio replaced Edgardo Silva. After 82 played minutes, Joinville City - FSCMZ's Mbaka N'Diaye shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jeremy Nicholas came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Joinville City - FSCMZ reached it. Jeremy Nicholas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adhemar Santos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jeremy Nicholas came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by Joinville City - FSCMZ's Adhemar Santos. But to his dismay, Adhemar Santos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Joinville City - FSCMZ fans cheered their team off the field, for while New England Minas had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
