Andres van der Sar came out of the goal in the 4th minute to try and stop a shot by Grêmio RK75's Kaká Brasil. But to his dismay, Kaká Brasil quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Andres van der Sar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Harold Tronconi in the 12th minute of play. A collision led to MONTANHA getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Benedito Trancoso hit a great ball. Nilton Lira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andres van der Sar having to interfere. João Francisco Tinoco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wei Guang Xing in the 18th minute of the match. Andres van der Sar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Harold Tronconi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Harold Tronconi scored 0-2 in the 26th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Andres van der Sar, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Afonso Cardozo in the 29thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of João Francisco Tinoco, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. MONTANHA were awarded a corner in the 30th minute after Grêmio RK75's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Afonso Cardozo took the corner. The corner ended in Nilton Montenegro almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Grêmio RK75's João Francisco Tinoco did a great save. Grêmio RK75's Lucas Veríssimo quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Teodoro Peres, made in the 36th minute of the game. João Francisco Tinoco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wei Guang Xing, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 40th minute of the match MONTANHA got a corner. Grêmio RK75's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Afonso Cardozo ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Afonso Cardozo got away a dangerous shot. Despite this João Francisco Tinoco quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. If Harold Tronconi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Harold Tronconi in the 47th minute of play forced MONTANHA's goalkeeper Andres van der Sar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Wei Guang Xing was the one to do the kick off. MONTANHA's Andres van der Sar proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save MONTANHA from getting a goal against them. 55 minutes had been played when some careless play by Grêmio RK75's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Afonso Cardozo was slow to take the kick. During this time MONTANHA's players had a chance to rest. If Wei Guang Xing had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Harold Tronconi came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Grêmio RK75 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Harold Tronconi couldn't finish the play. Wei Guang Xing hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Andres van der Sar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Harold Tronconi, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Murillo Martins made in the 69th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Grêmio RK75's Kaká Brasil. A collision led to Grêmio RK75 getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Carlos Fernando Guedes hit a great ball. In the 88th minute Czeslaw Walec shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Francisco Tinoco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Andres van der Sar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Harold Tronconi in the 89th minute of the match. The Grêmio RK75 supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Grêmio RK75 would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
