Eusebiu Crăciunaș was slow to take the kick. During this time Champions Iasi's players had a chance to rest. Rouven Nussli showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Petrică Cândreanu in the 74th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Champions Iasi's Basarab Alexandru got a free kick in the 76th minute. Rouven Nussli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Petrică Cândreanu in the 80th minute of play. In the 85th minute Waldemar Gierlach shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Baldomiro Txindoki saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Orçun Yalınalp kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. A collision led to FC UNIREA Alba Iulia getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Dilaver Tunçhan hit a great ball. The Champions Iasi players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
