Eintracht Cernavoda's Ionică Corcoveanu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicolae Barbu in the 3rd minute of play. In the 5th minute Zygmunt Dunajski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ionică Corcoveanu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 7 minutes, Nicolae Barbu took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Ionică Corcoveanu to make any attempt to save it. 9 minutes into the match, Eintracht Cernavoda's goalkeeper Ionică Corcoveanu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Zygmunt Dunajski. Through an outstanding action, after 12 minutes, Ionică Corcoveanu successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Eintracht Cernavoda were awarded a corner in the 16th minute after FC Steaua Pildesti's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Philip Walter took the corner. 22 minutes into the match, FC Steaua Pildesti's Lucian Stere sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ionică Corcoveanu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Lucian Stere hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Eintracht Cernavoda's Ionică Corcoveanu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lucian Stere in the 29th minute of play. Lucian Stere's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ionică Corcoveanu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as FC Steaua Pildesti's Lucian Stere slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ionică Corcoveanu. That made the score 2-0 after 39 minutes of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Lucian Stere managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Steaua Pildesti's supporters rose to their feet, but Lucian Stere was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ionică Corcoveanu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The audience was convinced that Zygmunt Dunajski's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ionică Corcoveanu was relentless in the 53rd minute of the game. When the match had gone on for 53 minutes, Zygmunt Dunajski put it in 3-1 from a short distance just to the right of Ionică Corcoveanu. Zygmunt Dunajski hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. When Nicolae Barbu, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 61 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Ionică Corcoveanu was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Marian Văduvescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Yin Li Ying in the 62nd minute of the match. Ionică Corcoveanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zygmunt Dunajski in the 64th minute of play. After 65 minutes Eintracht Cernavoda's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Terry Doyle who took care of the corner kick. 68 minutes into the match, Nicolae Barbu notched a goal, 4-1, to the right of Eintracht Cernavoda's Ionică Corcoveanu. Ionică Corcoveanu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Eintracht Cernavoda's Codrin Izbașa was substituted for Mikael Isak. Eintracht Cernavoda's Gigel Gologan was substituted for Filip Pantiș. Eintracht Cernavoda made a substitution. Emilian Bădulescu replaced Cristi Dulca. With an all-out effort, Eintracht Cernavoda's Marian Văduvescu threw himself towards the right post 72 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Yin Li Ying, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Marian Văduvescu made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Flavius Stanciu sent off a good shot on target. Zygmunt Dunajski scored 5-1 in the 80th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ionică Corcoveanu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 84 minutes into the match, Eintracht Cernavoda's goal looked a bit too open when Zygmunt Dunajski came free, but Ionică Corcoveanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 91st minute, one of Eintracht Cernavoda:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Eintracht Cernavoda. Zygmunt Dunajski shot the penalty kick right outside the post. For all the effort they put into the match, the Eintracht Cernavoda players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for FC Steaua Pildesti.
