Felix Ferenț was slow to take the kick. During this time Minerul Baita -MM-'s players had a chance to rest. In the 7th minute, Lucian Stere fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Zygmunt Dunajski could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Nistor Maghiar made a huge save. Ciprian Alexe scored 0-1 in the 13th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Marian Văduvescu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Vlad Tepes hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. The FC Steaua Pildesti fans' excitement grew in the 18th match minute when FC Steaua Pildesti's Lucian Stere looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The supporters of Minerul Baita -MM- booed when FC Steaua Pildesti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Constantin Deșliu didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to FC Steaua Pildesti getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Filip Paulescu hit a great ball. In the 32nd minute of the match Felix Ferenț shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Marian Văduvescu showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Rareș Comișel charged in rather forcefully in the 33rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rareș Comișel the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. When the match had been going on for 34 minutes, FC Steaua Pildesti's Lucian Stere got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Nistor Maghiar. Nistor Maghiar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Filip Paulescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Zygmunt Dunajski might have been able to make a better finish in the 40th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nistor Maghiar. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Zygmunt Dunajski ran back to his position shaking his head. FC Steaua Pildesti's Marian Văduvescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ciprian Alexe in the 43rd minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Allan Shearer to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Minerul Baita -MM-'s goal looked a bit too open when Lucian Stere came free, but Nistor Maghiar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nistor Maghiar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Filip Paulescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 56 minutes into the match, FC Steaua Pildesti's goalkeeper Marian Văduvescu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Allan Shearer. In the 61st match minute, Minerul Baita -MM- was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rareș Comișel to maneuver through the defense. FC Steaua Pildesti's Marian Văduvescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Allan Shearer in the 63rd minute of play. After having played for 64 minutes, Allan Shearer managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Minerul Baita -MM-'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Allan Shearer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Marian Văduvescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ciprian Alexe, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Marian Văduvescu was a little too slow when Ciprian Alexe got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 69th minute. The score was now 2-2. Cédric Payen kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Minerul Baita -MM-'s zone, Filip Paulescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nistor Maghiar came out of the goal and Filip Paulescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 86 played minutes Minerul Baita -MM- got a freekick which was hit by Rareș Comișel. In the 87th minute, Constantin Deșliu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 90th minute Robert Antohi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nistor Maghiar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 92 minutes into the match, FC Steaua Pildesti's goalkeeper Marian Văduvescu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dudu Georgescu. Dudu Georgescu's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 92ndth minute, Marian Văduvescu skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Chants of Minerul Baita -MM- echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as FC Steaua Pildesti had held the ball for most of the match.
