In the 3rd match minute, FC Dacii Liberi - IASI was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Petru Drâmba to maneuver through the defense. Mihnea Suşu came out of the goal in the 5th minute to try and stop a shot by Steaua Bucuresti's Aron Ciorăscu. But to his dismay, Aron Ciorăscu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Aron Ciorăscu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 9th minute, Traian Constantinescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mihnea Suşu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Aron Ciorăscu in the 12th minute. If Aurel Pandrea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bogdan Chelaru in the 15th minute of play forced Steaua Bucuresti's goalkeeper Radu Isaicu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With an all-out effort, Steaua Bucuresti's Mihnea Suşu threw himself towards the right post 20 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Traian Constantinescu, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 22 minutes had been played when some careless play by FC Dacii Liberi - IASI's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Iulian Ciuvică was slow to take the kick. During this time Steaua Bucuresti's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Steaua Bucuresti's Iulian Ciuvică to fire away a dangerous shot which Mihnea Suşu despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 24th minute Benedicto Abello shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Radu Isaicu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mihnea Suşu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gheorghe Cunea in the 26th minute of the match. Mihnea Suşu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gheorghe Cunea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 37 minutes, Ognyan Shiyachki mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Dacii Liberi - IASI and the Steaua Bucuresti players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 38 played minutes FC Dacii Liberi - IASI got a freekick which was hit by Ognyan Shiyachki. In the 39th minute, Aurel Pandrea ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mihnea Suşu was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. After 42 minutes, Aron Ciorăscu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Steaua Bucuresti and the FC Dacii Liberi - IASI players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 42nd match minute, Steaua Bucuresti was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aron Ciorăscu to maneuver through the defense. In the 46th minute Gaizko Abaurre shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Radu Isaicu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gaizko Abaurre made a kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Benedicto Abello got free with Radu Isaicu in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 59th minute, Aron Ciorăscu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Steaua Bucuresti fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Traian Constantinescu kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Radu Isaicu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gaizko Abaurre, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. After some careless play in the FC Dacii Liberi - IASI defense, Aron Ciorăscu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mihnea Suşu. The FC Dacii Liberi - IASI fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mihnea Suşu should have stopped the shot. Steaua Bucuresti made a substitution. Bogdan Agrigoroaiei replaced Marcu Şerbănoiu. Steaua Bucuresti made a substitution. Ferdinand Vasiliu replaced Traian Constantinescu. Aron Ciorăscu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mihnea Suşu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 70th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Gaizko Abaurre kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Radu Isaicu. That made the score 4-1 in the 72 minute of play. Steaua Bucuresti's Radu Isaicu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Steaua Bucuresti from getting a goal against them. Aron Ciorăscu scored 5-1 in the 86th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mihnea Suşu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. FC Dacii Liberi - IASI's Rodolfo Pinheiro was substituted for Bogdan Chelaru. Mihnea Suşu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ferdinand Vasiliu in the 91st minute of the match. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Steaua Bucuresti fans cheered their team off the field, for while FC Dacii Liberi - IASI had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
