After a rather tough play, BRASIL DE PELOTAS 4EVER's Claudinho Siqueira got a free kick in the 21st minute. Ezequiel Barral struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Adelino de Andrade didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Independente FC. Walmir Berger's late challenge caught a BRASIL DE PELOTAS 4EVER's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Walmir Berger helped the player get up and apologised. If José Vítor Rodrigues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in BRASIL DE PELOTAS 4EVER's zone, José Vítor Rodrigues stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adelino de Andrade came out of the goal and José Vítor Rodrigues tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Germano Araújo charged in rather forcefully in the 42nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Germano Araújo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Germano Araújo hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. In the 43rd match minute, Independente FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paulo Soares to maneuver through the defense. Nestor Quintal stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Claudinho Siqueira's shot from short distance in the 45th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ezequiel Barral in the 47th minute of play forced BRASIL DE PELOTAS 4EVER's goalkeeper Adelino de Andrade to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half Independente FC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nicolas Andrade stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, José Vítor Rodrigues fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Adelino de Andrade, passed just outside the right post. José Vítor Rodrigues's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Adelino de Andrade read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Ezequiel Barral's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Adelino de Andrade was relentless in the 59th minute of the game. Independente FC's Nestor Quintal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudinho Siqueira in the 79th minute of play. Adelino de Andrade made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ezequiel Barral in the 86th minute of play. Walmyr Furlan's late challenge caught a Independente FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Penalty! If José Vítor Rodrigues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpected shot in the 97th minute by Ezequiel Barral got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Independente FC played a much better game than BRASIL DE PELOTAS 4EVER and deserved their victory. The BRASIL DE PELOTAS 4EVER players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
