In the 10th minute Nicolas Andrade shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nestor Quintal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of BRASIL DE PELOTAS 4EVER booed when Independente FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benedito Trancoso didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nestor Quintal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Murillo Recife in the 13th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling José Vítor Rodrigues in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Adelino de Andrade prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 18th match minute, BRASIL DE PELOTAS 4EVER was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mauro Guimarães to maneuver through the defense. Zé Carlos de Azevedo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Adelino de Andrade tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to BRASIL DE PELOTAS 4EVER getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Luizinho Capixaba hit a great ball. Independente FC's Nestor Quintal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Teodoro Guedes in the 28th minute of play. Adelino de Andrade made an important save on a dangerous shot by José Vítor Rodrigues in the 31st minute. Zé Carlos de Azevedo scored 1-0 in the 35th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Adelino de Andrade, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 38th minute, Independente FC's José Vítor Rodrigues ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Adelino de Andrade. Adelino de Andrade yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. Zé Carlos de Azevedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Adelino de Andrade showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zé Carlos de Azevedo in the 47th minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Zé Carlos de Azevedo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Ezequiel Barral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Gilberto Gonçalves took the ball and in the 53 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Adelino de Andrade. Inácio das Neves's late challenge caught a BRASIL DE PELOTAS 4EVER's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Inácio das Neves helped the player get up and apologised. Murillo Recife took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 58th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Nestor Quintal. Independente FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Adelino de Andrade showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José Vítor Rodrigues, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Independente FC had played much better football throughout.
