Santo Everton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zé Carlos de Azevedo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Paulo José Veiga hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. In the 12th match minute, Independente FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ciro Ribeiro to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Zuera Never End MZC getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Natanael Rosado hit a great ball. A collision led to Independente FC getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Marcel Mendes hit a great ball. In the 21st minute of the match Rui Coutinho sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nestor Quintal skillfully saved the ball. In the 24th minute, Natanael Rosado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gilberto Gonçalves took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 25th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Santo Everton. Zuera Never End MZC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oscar Prestes in the 28th minute of play forced Independente FC's goalkeeper Nestor Quintal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Independente FC's Nestor Quintal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adilson Souza in the 32nd minute of play. A collision led to Zuera Never End MZC getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Válter Figueiredo hit a great ball. 39 minutes into the game, Gilberto Gonçalves cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Santo Everton was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In a very dangerous position, a player in Independente FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 42nd minute. Penalty! The referee gave Zuera Never End MZC a penalty, 45 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Oscar Prestes, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Independente FC's Nestor Quintal. 1-1. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Adilson Souza to make the kick off. Nestor Quintal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oscar Prestes, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. In the 58th minute of the match, Oscar Prestes tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Nestor Quintal saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Adilson Souza came free with the goalkeeper in the 61st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Nestor Quintal could save by the left post. Adilson Souza hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Adilson Souza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nestor Quintal having to interfere. Inácio das Neves lost his temper 72 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The audience thought a goal was coming when Oscar Prestes got free with Nestor Quintal in the 73rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Válter Figueiredo fell near the penalty area in the 75th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Zuera Never End MZC's protests and gave Válter Figueiredo a yellow card for diving instead. Válter Figueiredo kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. In the 76th minute Zé Carlos de Azevedo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Santo Everton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nestor Quintal came out of the goal in the 80th minute to try and stop a shot by Zuera Never End MZC's Oscar Prestes. But to his dismay, Oscar Prestes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. In the 92nd minute, Zé Carlos de Azevedo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 95 minutes into the match, Independente FC's goal looked a bit too open when Adilson Souza came free, but Nestor Quintal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Zuera Never End MZC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Zuera Never End MZC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
