When Davi Proença came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the Catugi FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Davi Proença couldn't finish the play. 9 minutes had been played when some careless play by Brasiliense FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Davi Proença was slow to take the kick. During this time Catugi FC's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Davi Proença almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Brasiliense FC's Geovanni Almeida did a great save. In the 9thth minute of the game Iuri Viana who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Brasiliense FC's Geovanni Almeida was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 11th minute César Coelho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luizão Braga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Brasiliense FC's Ademir Correia suffered a concussion after 11 minutes and had to leave the field. After 11 minutes, Frederico Bertassi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Catugi FC and the Brasiliense FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Brasiliense FC made a substitution. Antônio Carlos Sergipano replaced Ademir Correia. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedrinho Veloso in the 15th minute of play forced Catugi FC's goalkeeper Luizão Braga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hudson Bezerra charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hudson Bezerra the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 20 played minutes Catugi FC got a freekick which was hit by Hudson Bezerra. After 21 played minutes, Brasiliense FC's Zé Pedro Garcia shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Luizão Braga came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Brasiliense FC reached it. Luizão Braga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedrinho Veloso, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. In the 26th match minute, Brasiliense FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by César Coelho to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 27 minutes, Henrique Pimenta managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Catugi FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Henrique Pimenta was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luizão Braga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from César Coelho in the 28th minute of play. Luizão Braga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedrinho Veloso, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Luizão Braga stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Pedrinho Veloso's shot from short distance in the 44th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Conrado Arruda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luizão Braga having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Catugi FC's Hudson Bezerra got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Luizão Braga acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 53rd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Zé Pedro Garcia. Frederico Bertassi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Geovanni Almeida read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 56th minute of play. After 60 minutes, Silas Barbosa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Catugi FC and the Brasiliense FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Catugi FC getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Silas Barbosa hit a great ball. In the 61st minute Conrado Arruda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luizão Braga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Davi Proença fell near the penalty area in the 63rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Catugi FC's protests and gave Davi Proença a yellow card for diving instead. In the 63rd match minute, Catugi FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Davi Proença to maneuver through the defense. 69 minutes into the match, Catugi FC's goal looked a bit too open when Pedrinho Veloso came free, but Luizão Braga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Brasiliense FC booed when Catugi FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Davi Proença didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 81st minute Davi Proença shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Geovanni Almeida saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
