Wágner Urbano's late challenge caught a Catugi FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Wágner Urbano helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Catugi FC booed when Jardim América FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wágner Urbano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jardim América FC's Perivaldo Torres played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rômulo Romero in the 13th minute of play. When Walmir Araújo fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Jardim América FC's protests and gave Walmir Araújo a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Catugi FC booed when Jardim América FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Walmir Araújo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Anselmo Meireles was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 17 minutes into the match. After 17 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Jardim América FC! Jardim América FC:s Perivaldo Torres showed great skill when he stopped Davi Proença:s penalty. Jardim América FC's Perivaldo Torres proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save Jardim América FC from getting a goal against them. Catugi FC's Luizão Braga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristiano Senna in the 30th minute of play. In the 39th minute of the match, Natã Marinho got a very nice opportunity to score, but Perivaldo Torres was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cristiano Senna in the 41st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Luizão Braga saved Catugi FC from getting behind. A collision led to Jardim América FC getting a freekick after 48 minutes play. Cristiano Senna hit a great ball.
