Dragons EC's Telmo Veloso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ladislao Mazurkiewicz in the 6th minute of play. 8 minutes into the match, Carlos Alberto Viana notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Dragons EC's Telmo Veloso. Telmo Veloso was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Cauan Leal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 21 minutes into the game, João Carlos Gaspar was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Dragons EC the free kick. After a rather tough play, S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's João Carlos Gaspar got a free kick in the 22nd minute. Ladislao Mazurkiewicz took the ball and in the 25 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Telmo Veloso. Telmo Veloso dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. Cauan Leal who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 29thth minute tested the skills of Vitor José when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 32 played minutes Dragons EC got a freekick which was hit by Luisinho Vianna. A hard and well directed shot from Carlos Alberto Viana led 33 minutes into the game to a goal after the ball had bounced deceptively just in front of the goal. Dragons EC's Telmo Veloso became a little unsure and couldn't grip the ball before it was over the goalline. Thus it was 0-5. Telmo Veloso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Alberto Viana in the 36th minute of play. 41 minutes into the game, Carlos Alberto Viana cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-6. Telmo Veloso was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Carlos Alberto Viana in the 46th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Telmo Veloso saved Dragons EC from getting behind. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-6.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Carlos Alberto Viana to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Dragons EC's Raphael Aparecido got a free kick in the 56th minute. The supporters of S.E.R. Caxias do Sul booed when Dragons EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Caco Silva didn't get a good kick on the ball. 67 minutes into the game, Cauan Leal was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Dragons EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave S.E.R. Caxias do Sul the free kick. Telmo Veloso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Alberto Viana in the 80th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luís Fernando Fantini during the 82nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of S.E.R. Caxias do Sul booed when Dragons EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís Fernando Fantini didn't get a good kick on the ball. Telmo Veloso made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Carlos Alberto Viana sent off a good shot on target. Carlos Alberto Viana had several of the Dragons EC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 92 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-9 score and a disappointed Telmo Veloso as he didn't even see the shot coming. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. S.E.R. Caxias do Sul walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
