Lamine Xande started the match with the kick off. Gianluigi Donnarumma acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 15th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Válbson Schmidt. In the 24th minute, Válbson Schmidt fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Gianluigi Donnarumma, passed just outside the right post. Sidney de Queirós kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ladislao Mazurkiewicz in the 28th minute of play forced New Joinville - FSCMZ's goalkeeper Emerson Chaves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ronaldo Viana hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. A collision led to S.E.R. Caxias do Sul getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Luizão Prata hit a great ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ladislao Mazurkiewicz was the one to do the kick off. After 52 played minutes New Joinville - FSCMZ got a freekick which was hit by Válbson Schmidt. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ladislao Mazurkiewicz got free with Emerson Chaves in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ivo Mello's late challenge caught a New Joinville - FSCMZ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ivo Mello helped the player get up and apologised. Ivo Mello hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. In the 55th minute Xande Musiala shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gianluigi Donnarumma saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 56 minutes into the match, S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's goal looked a bit too open when Válbson Schmidt came free, but Gianluigi Donnarumma reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. New Joinville - FSCMZ made a substitution. Guilherme Tavares replaced Emílio Martins. New Joinville - FSCMZ's Robinho de Souza was substituted for Xande Musiala. When Remo Valle fell near the penalty area in the 63rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's protests and gave Remo Valle a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of New Joinville - FSCMZ booed when S.E.R. Caxias do Sul was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Remo Valle didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had gone on for 64 minutes, Robinho de Souza put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Gianluigi Donnarumma. 68 minutes into the game, Robinho de Souza cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Gianluigi Donnarumma was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 71 minutes into the match, Robinho de Souza had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gianluigi Donnarumma. S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Robinho de Souza was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Gianluigi Donnarumma made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lamine Xande in the 75th minute of play. 76 minutes into the match, S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's goal looked a bit too open when Robinho de Souza came free, but Gianluigi Donnarumma reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gianluigi Donnarumma came out of the goal in the 76th minute to try and stop a shot by New Joinville - FSCMZ's Robinho de Souza. But to his dismay, Robinho de Souza quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. Robinho de Souza struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Gianluigi Donnarumma didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for New Joinville - FSCMZ. In the 82nd match minute, S.E.R. Caxias do Sul was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gabriel França to maneuver through the defense. The New Joinville - FSCMZ fans' excitement grew in the 83rd match minute when New Joinville - FSCMZ's Lamine Xande looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 5-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. When New Joinville - FSCMZ's Robinho de Souza in the 88th minute got a chance for a shot 88th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye S.E.R.
