Osvaldinho Cordeiro hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. In the 8th match minute, A.A. Francana was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Serginho Alagoano to maneuver through the defense. Armandinho Vergílio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 24th minute, A.A. Francana's Wilton Romero dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. 40 minutes into the game, Serginho Alagoano was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. A.A. Francana's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Barrenta SC the free kick. Serginho Alagoano kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Murilo Mazza made a kick off. An unexpected shot in the 54th minute by Murilo Mazza got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After 56 played minutes Barrenta SC got a freekick which was hit by Michel Barral. The supporters of A.A. Francana booed when Barrenta SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Maria Neves didn't get a good kick on the ball. Serginho Alagoano's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Naldo Oliveira read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. After some careless play in the Barrenta SC defense, Arnaldo Ramos kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Naldo Oliveira. The Barrenta SC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Naldo Oliveira should have stopped the shot. Umberto Trigo kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. Naldo Oliveira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wilton Romero in the 69th minute of play. After 71 played minutes Umberto Trigo could catch the ball where he stood relatively free a bit outside the goal and without hesitation he completed 3-2 into the left cross. The audience thought a goal was coming when Murilo Mazza got free with Telmo Trigo in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Telmo Trigo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Umberto Trigo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Barrenta SC getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Alan Teles hit a great ball. 88 minutes into the match, Barrenta SC's goal looked a bit too open when Wilton Romero came free, but Naldo Oliveira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 90th match minute, Barrenta SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alan Teles to maneuver through the defense. Barrenta SC's Naldo Oliveira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Armandinho Vergílio in the 94th minute of play.
