Will Muralhas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Váldson Mazza, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Váldson Mazza could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Will Muralhas made a huge save. A collision led to SE Palmeiras getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Oswaldo Godoi hit a great ball. Will Muralhas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ramiro Duarte in the 21st minute of play. Christiano Baiano kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Classe A Futebol Clube's Doriva Simão proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save Classe A Futebol Clube from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Classe A Futebol Clube's Anísio Netto got a free kick in the 70th minute. Eugênio Peres sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Váldson Mazza fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abelardo Medeiros in the 96th minute of play forced Classe A Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Doriva Simão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Classe A Futebol Clube's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
