Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ were awarded a corner in the 28th minute after A.A. Francana's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Francisco Queirós took the corner. After taking down the ball on Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's corner James Orange fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Telmo Trigo quite easily take care of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by James Orange in the 31st minute of play forced A.A. Francana's goalkeeper Telmo Trigo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A.A. Francana were furious when Denílson Leite was red carded, 34 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. A.A.
