Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SE Palmeiras the free kick. The supporters of SE Palmeiras booed when Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. James Orange didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 16th match minute, SE Palmeiras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Basílio do Valle to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet as Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's Deivid Moreira slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Will Muralhas. That made the score 1-0 after 20 minutes of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abelardo Medeiros in the 23rd minute of play forced Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's goalkeeper Cacá Sousa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Will Muralhas was a little too slow when Deivid Moreira got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 24th minute. The score was now 2-0. When SE Palmeiras's Abelardo Medeiros in the 31st minute got a chance for a shot 31st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's goalie prevented a goal. If Abelardo Medeiros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ defense, Abelardo Medeiros kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cacá Sousa. The Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cacá Sousa should have stopped the shot. A collision led to Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Alex Gonçalves hit a great ball. After 46 played minutes, SE Palmeiras's Alfredo Vieira shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Cacá Sousa came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in SE Palmeiras reached it. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The wind increased when Deivid Moreira made the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ booed when SE Palmeiras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elivélton Valle didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 53rdth minute of the game Deivid Moreira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SE Palmeiras's Will Muralhas was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 55 played minutes SE Palmeiras got a freekick which was hit by Oswaldo Godoi. Roberto Andrade's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Cacá Sousa firmly grabbed it by the left post. The crowd rose to their feet as Roberto Andrade kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Cacá Sousa. That made the score 2-2 in the 58 minute of play. In the 61st minute, Basílio do Valle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Will Muralhas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Deivid Moreira in the 62nd minute of play. Abelardo Medeiros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Cacá Sousa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cacá Sousa had great luck who in the 72ndth minute grab hold of the ball when Abelardo Medeiros from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Alex Gonçalves lost his temper 79 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 78th minute, one of Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ. With a little luck, Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's Cacá Sousa got control of the ball when Abelardo Medeiros tried to sneak it across the goal line. 88 minutes into the match, SE Palmeiras's Abelardo Medeiros sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cacá Sousa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 91st match minute, SE Palmeiras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dito Donatello to maneuver through the defense. Cacá Sousa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abelardo Medeiros in the 94th minute of play. After 94 played minutes Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ got a freekick which was hit by Deivid Moreira. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ian Cerezo got free with Cacá Sousa in the 97th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
