The audience was convinced that João Adolfo Leite's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Valdo Catarinense was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. Francana was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Válbson Soeiro to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in A.A. Francana's zone, Júlio Eger stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Telmo Trigo came out of the goal and Júlio Eger tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alberto Mendonça to make the kick off. Telmo Trigo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Júlio Eger in the 55th minute of the match. A collision led to A.A. Francana getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Cido Vinhas hit a great ball. Alberto Mendonça recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alberto Mendonça succeeded in the game's 74th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-0. 77 minutes into the match, Alberto Mendonça notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of A.A. Francana's Telmo Trigo. Telmo Trigo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When João Adolfo Leite came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the A.A. Francana fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that João Adolfo Leite couldn't finish the play. After 84 played minutes SORRISO E. C. got a freekick which was hit by Agostinho Pombal. Telmo Trigo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alberto Mendonça went, in the 87th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. Reinaldo Marquez kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. SORRISO E. C.'s Valdo Catarinense proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save SORRISO E. C. from getting a goal against them. Júlio Eger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Telmo Trigo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. SORRISO E. C. fully deserved thier win.
