In the 45th match minute, SE Palmeiras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Vítor de Almeida to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice moves Edmílson Toscano could shoot a difficult shot in the 47th minute, which Will Muralhas however easily saved by the left post. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Pedro Luiz Trevisan made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Abelardo Medeiros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guilherme Mendonça saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Will Muralhas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luan Moreno, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. If Abelardo Medeiros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Oswaldo Godoi charged in rather forcefully in the 60th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down.
