The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the game, Litoral EC - CIMZ's Ricardinho Vander nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Maurício Veiga made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 8th minute, Juvenal Pires hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Maurício Veiga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ricardinho Vander in the 11th minute of play. When Juvenal Pires fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ㄈㄩㄥㄗㄙ's protests and gave Juvenal Pires a yellow card for diving instead. Juvenal Pires hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Maurício Veiga stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ricardinho Vander's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. Thanks to some nice moves Mané Ramalho could shoot a difficult shot in the 17th minute, which Sílvio Luiz das Neves however easily saved by the left post. After 19 played minutes ㄈㄩㄥㄗㄙ got a freekick which was hit by Ruy Barros. After a rather tough play, ㄈㄩㄥㄗㄙ's Nilson Rosa got a free kick in the 25th minute. In the 28th minute, Ulisses Munhoz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Maurício Veiga was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Maurício Veiga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Toninho Coutinho, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Maurício Veiga came out of the goal in the 35th minute to try and stop a shot by Litoral EC - CIMZ's Ulisses Munhoz. But to his dismay, Ulisses Munhoz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Toninho Coutinho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maurício Veiga having to interfere. Maurício Veiga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ricardinho Vander, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Ricardinho Vander's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Maurício Veiga was relentless in the 48th minute of the game. The ㄈㄩㄥㄗㄙ players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Litoral EC - CIMZ were winning 0-3.

With a little luck, ㄈㄩㄥㄗㄙ's Maurício Veiga got control of the ball when Ricardinho Vander tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 54 played minutes ㄈㄩㄥㄗㄙ got a freekick which was hit by Hélio Dante. Litoral EC - CIMZ's Eriberto Cerezo shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 55th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Maurício Veiga but with some difficulty. Maurício Veiga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eriberto Cerezo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sílvio Luiz das Neves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Geovânio Penha in the 61st minute of the match. Ulisses Munhoz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maurício Veiga having to interfere. 68 minutes into the game, Ulisses Munhoz recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Maurício Veiga. Ulisses Munhoz showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-4. The supporters of ㄈㄩㄥㄗㄙ booed when Litoral EC - CIMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ulisses Munhoz didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geovânio Penha in the 72nd minute of play forced Litoral EC - CIMZ's goalkeeper Sílvio Luiz das Neves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sílvio Luiz das Neves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ruy Barros in the 74th minute of play. In the 75th minute, Ruy Barros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ulisses Munhoz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Maurício Veiga made a huge save. Ulisses Munhoz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 91st match minute, ㄈㄩㄥㄗㄙ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nilson Rosa to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ricardinho Vander in the 92nd minute of play forced ㄈㄩㄥㄗㄙ's goalkeeper Maurício Veiga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ulisses Munhoz struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Maurício Veiga didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Litoral EC - CIMZ. Litoral EC - CIMZ's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
