Fabiofs's Gustavo Valadares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Donato Prestes in the 11th minute of play. Washington Baptista was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 14th minute. Fabiofs's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Murilo Paiva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Washington Baptista, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fabiofs's Washington Baptista got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 19th minute, Tadeu do Vale hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Curiphila Eagles's Benedito Vale got a free kick in the 22nd minute. Tião Valladares was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 24 minutes into the match. After 25 played minutes Fabiofs got a freekick which was hit by Tião Valladares. After 26 played minutes, Curiphila Eagles's Dieguinho Lira shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Gustavo Valadares came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Curiphila Eagles reached it. Gustavo Valadares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kiko Mattos in the 28th minute of the match. In the 28th minute, Orlando Vinhas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Donato Prestes hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. 33 minutes into the match, Fabiofs's goal looked a bit too open when Tadeu do Vale came free, but Gustavo Valadares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gustavo Valadares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Naldo Costa in the 36th minute of the match. Gustavo Valadares didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Donato Prestes went, in the 38th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Orlando Vinhas during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 44 played minutes Fabiofs got a freekick which was hit by Orlando Vinhas. Gustavo Valadares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Donato Prestes in the 46th minute of play.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Elano Velloso stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Kiko Mattos hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Gustavo Valadares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tadeu do Vale, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 66th match minute, Fabiofs was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Orlando Vinhas to maneuver through the defense. In the 70th minute, Abelardo Bastos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gustavo Valadares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reinaldo Cearense, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. In the 78th match minute, Fabiofs was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Erik Dante to maneuver through the defense. 80 minutes into the game, Washington Baptista was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fabiofs's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Curiphila Eagles the free kick. The supporters of Curiphila Eagles booed when Fabiofs was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Washington Baptista didn't get a good kick on the ball. 81 minutes into the match, Kiko Mattos dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Gustavo Valadares, 0-2. Elano Velloso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Murilo Paiva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Elano Velloso managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fabiofs's supporters rose to their feet, but Elano Velloso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Murilo Paiva breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 94th minute, Benedito Vale hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Curiphila Eagles's zone, Orlando Vinhas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Murilo Paiva came out of the goal and Orlando Vinhas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
