In the 4th minute, Donato Prestes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Vágner Meirelles was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 9th minute, Donato Prestes made a precise shot to the right of Vágner Meirelles. Montevideo's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Montevideo's Vágner Meirelles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Pedro Seco in the 15th minute of play. Vágner Meirelles came out of the goal in the 17th minute to try and stop a shot by Curiphila Eagles's Donato Prestes. But to his dismay, Donato Prestes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. Rafinha Zanette hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Dieguinho Lira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Montevideo's Vágner Meirelles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Pedro Seco in the 26th minute of play. 28 minutes into the game, Kiko Mattos cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-5. Vágner Meirelles was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of Curiphila Eagles booed when Montevideo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zé Carlos Tróia didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Naldo Costa during the 36th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Curiphila Eagles getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Naldo Costa hit a great ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-5.

The wind increased when Donato Prestes made the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the game, Kiko Mattos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Curiphila Eagles's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Montevideo the free kick. The supporters of Montevideo booed when Curiphila Eagles was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kiko Mattos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vágner Meirelles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kiko Mattos, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Bruninho Trigo kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Zé Carlos Tróia in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Murilo Paiva prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 62nd minute Deivid Vinhas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Murilo Paiva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Donato Prestes in the 64th minute of play forced Montevideo's goalkeeper Vágner Meirelles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Montevideo fans' excitement grew in the 71st match minute when Montevideo's Deivid Vinhas looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-5 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After a defensive mix-up in Curiphila Eagles's zone, Deivid Vinhas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Murilo Paiva came out of the goal and Deivid Vinhas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With 78 minutes on the clock, Bruninho Trigo commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Bruninho Trigo kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. After having played for 80 minutes, Dieguinho Lira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Curiphila Eagles's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dieguinho Lira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Curiphila Eagles booed when Montevideo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zé Carlos Tróia didn't get a good kick on the ball. Montevideo's defense didn't have a chance, in the 94th minute, when Donato Prestes scored to the left of an out of position Vágner Meirelles, making the score, 1-6. The Curiphila Eagles supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Curiphila Eagles would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
