An unexpectedly hard shot by Henrique Branco in the 20th minute of play forced Clube do Remo MZ's goalkeeper Frederico Smith to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ricardinho Simão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Décio Neiva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gustavo Reis took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 25th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Décio Neiva. Ibirama Futebol Clube's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 30 minutes into the match, Clube do Remo MZ's goal looked a bit too open when Luís Eduardo Negri came free, but Frederico Smith reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ismael Mandrak in the 36th minute of play forced Ibirama Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Décio Neiva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 46 minutes, Frederico Smith successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Décio Neiva showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ricardinho Simão in the 48th minute of the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ismael Mandrak made a kick off. Toninho de Mendonça fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Décio Neiva having to interfere. The supporters of Ibirama Futebol Clube booed when Clube do Remo MZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Naldo da Cunha didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ismael Mandrak got free with Décio Neiva in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ismael Mandraks short, quick shot in the 58thth minute got Décio Neiva to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in.
