Giuseppe Lara didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Filipe Meneses went, in the 5th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Luís Fábio Andrade kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. Dalmo Rocha recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Leopoldo Cerezo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dalmo Rocha in the 12th minute of play. Filipe Meneses in the 17thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Giuseppe Lara, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Giuseppe Lara made an important save on a dangerous shot by Filipe Meneses in the 26th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luiz Maciel during the 33rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 33 played minutes 100 Chance got a freekick which was hit by Luiz Maciel. 35 minutes into the match, Nova Iguaçu MZFC's goalkeeper Giuseppe Lara had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Filipe Meneses. After 36 minutes of play, Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Dalmo Rocha made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Leopoldo Cerezo was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 40th minute, Telmo Barbosa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Leopoldo Cerezo was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Telmo Barbosa hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Dráuzio Paraíba in the 57th minute of play forced Nova Iguaçu MZFC's goalkeeper Giuseppe Lara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 58th minute César Alagoano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leopoldo Cerezo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee felt a red card was in order, 60 minutes into the game, when Anselmo Batista put in a rough tackle. After 61 played minutes Nova Iguaçu MZFC got a freekick which was hit by Anselmo Batista. Vicente Nogueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Giuseppe Lara took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Fábio Machado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 68 minutes into the game, César Alagoano recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Leopoldo Cerezo. When the match had gone on for 81 minutes, Telmo Barbosa took a quick shot and it went in 1-5 without a chance for Leopoldo Cerezo to make any attempt to save it. In the 86th minute, Oscar Tande hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 87th minute, Guilherme Mandrak got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Nova Iguaçu MZFC's César Alagoano got a free kick in the 92nd minute. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
