In the 9th minute, Nicasio Amor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Guido Vissenaeken sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Angel Xabel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Guido Vissenaeken in the 11th minute of the match. Vítor Baia made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sérgio Aguero in the 12th minute. After a rather tough play, Brugge United's Alfons Bagge got a free kick in the 14th minute. In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind POSSE 1911 FC's goalkeeper Angel Xabel, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Vítor Baia made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lukas Lundgren in the 19th minute. Vítor Baia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sérgio Aguero in the 20th minute of play. After some careless play in the POSSE 1911 FC defense, Guido Vissenaeken kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Angel Xabel. The POSSE 1911 FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Angel Xabel should have stopped the shot. 28 minutes into the match, POSSE 1911 FC's goal looked a bit too open when Guido Vissenaeken came free, but Angel Xabel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. POSSE 1911 FC's Angel Xabel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Guido Vissenaeken in the 28th minute of play. Nicasio Amor made in the 30th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Brugge United's Dacian Hrean. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roman Oinaz in the 42nd minute of play forced Brugge United's goalkeeper Vítor Baia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lukas Lundgren got free with Vítor Baia in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The POSSE 1911 FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Brugge United were winning 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sérgio Aguero to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Sérgio Aguero ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Vítor Baia was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Guido Vissenaeken blasted a shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Angel Xabel having to make a save. Angel Xabel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Guido Vissenaeken in the 55th minute. Angel Xabel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Guido Vissenaeken, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Brugge United booed when POSSE 1911 FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mincho Shahanov didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Guido Vissenaeken had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a little luck, POSSE 1911 FC's Angel Xabel got control of the ball when Guido Vissenaeken tried to sneak it across the goal line. Xavi Guardiola kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. A throw-in in the 69th minute of the game was made by Mincho Shahanov with Xavi Guardiola as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. In the 70th minute the ball was on its way in behind POSSE 1911 FC's goalkeeper Angel Xabel, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Guido Vissenaeken got free with Angel Xabel in the 75th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in POSSE 1911 FC's zone, Guido Vissenaeken stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Angel Xabel came out of the goal and Guido Vissenaeken tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. POSSE 1911 FC's Angel Xabel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save POSSE 1911 FC from getting a goal against them. Guido Vissenaeken recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Brugge United booed when POSSE 1911 FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Osmar Saldanha didn't get a good kick on the ball. Brugge United's supporters stood up full of expectation in the 97th minute of the game, when Laurențiu Roşculeţ after an extraordinary solo performance found himself with a golden opportunity in front of POSSE 1911 FC's goal. Laurențiu Roşculeţ was unfortunally a little to anxious and the ball went outside the goal. Brugge United played a much better game than POSSE 1911 FC and deserved their victory. The POSSE 1911 FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
