With a little luck, Astillero del Guayas's Nacho González got control of the ball when Wieslaw Maziarski tried to sneak it across the goal line. Zarando Eguizabal scored 0-1 in the 6th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Wit Kasperowicz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Mikolaj Budzynski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nacho González having to interfere. Patricio Alvarado hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Xaiver Ascarretazabal might have been able to make a better finish in the 18th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Wit Kasperowicz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Xaiver Ascarretazabal ran back to his position shaking his head. Mikolaj Budzynski recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Astillero del Guayas's Nacho González played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mikolaj Budzynski in the 24th minute of play. When the match clock showed 27 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Zarando Eguizabal sped through KS LEW Chorzów's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Wit Kasperowicz. If Zarando Eguizabal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wieslaw Maziarski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Astillero del Guayas booed when KS LEW Chorzów was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wieslaw Maziarski didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as KS LEW Chorzów's Wieslaw Maziarski slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Nacho González. That made the score 1-2 after 36 minutes of play. Wit Kasperowicz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Xaiver Ascarretazabal in the 39th minute of the match. KS LEW Chorzów's Wit Kasperowicz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ulizes Sola in the 40th minute of play. After 44 minutes Astillero del Guayas's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Wieslaw Maziarski who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Wieslaw Maziarski almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Astillero del Guayas's Nacho González did a great save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ulizes Sola in the 46th minute of play forced KS LEW Chorzów's goalkeeper Wit Kasperowicz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 47th minute, Bagui Lizana hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 48th minute Mikolaj Budzynski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nacho González saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The KS LEW Chorzów players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Astillero del Guayas were winning 1-2.

In the 54th minute of the match, Xaiver Ascarretazabal tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Wit Kasperowicz saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 56 minutes into the match, Mikolaj Budzynski had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nacho González. Astillero del Guayas's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mikolaj Budzynski was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Mikolaj Budzynski took the ball and in the 60 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nacho González. Nacho González dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. 63 minutes into the match, Astillero del Guayas's goal looked a bit too open when Mikolaj Budzynski came free, but Nacho González reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 75 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for KS LEW Chorzów! KS LEW Chorzów:s Wit Kasperowicz showed great skill when he stopped Clóvis Lima:s penalty. In the 80th minute of the match, Xaiver Ascarretazabal tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Wit Kasperowicz saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After 81 played minutes Astillero del Guayas got a freekick which was hit by Bagui Lizana. KS LEW Chorzów's Wit Kasperowicz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save KS LEW Chorzów from getting a goal against them. 88 minutes into the match, KS LEW Chorzów's goal looked a bit too open when Zarando Eguizabal came free, but Wit Kasperowicz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gerhard Vejs charged in rather forcefully in the 89th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gerhard Vejs the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Juliusz Cuber hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. In the 95th match minute, KS LEW Chorzów was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wieslaw Maziarski to maneuver through the defense. Patricio Alvarado kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. Wit Kasperowicz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zarando Eguizabal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The KS LEW Chorzów players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
