Nacho González took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Unai Sócrates, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Unai Sócrates in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nacho González prevented the ball from getting in the gole. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Unai Sócrates made a kick off. The throw-in from Clóvis Lima in the 51st minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Fauna Utd's Karel Cromefeldt. Unai Sócrates might have been able to make a better finish in the 53rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nacho González. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Unai Sócrates ran back to his position shaking his head. 57 minutes into the match, Fauna Utd's Unai Sócrates sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nacho González narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zarando Eguizabal in the 59th minute of play forced Fauna Utd's goalkeeper Radamel Hendrickx to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Unai Sócrates in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nacho González prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Nacho González dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. Radamel Hendrickx showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Xaiver Ascarretazabal in the 73rd minute of the match. The Fauna Utd fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-0. Unai Sócrates fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nacho González having to interfere. 95 minutes into the match, Astillero del Guayas's goal looked a bit too open when Unai Sócrates came free, but Nacho González reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
