In the 60th minute Sven-Arne Bengtsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aurelio Walme saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Daniel Owsiak got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Fire Devils's Odysseus Lindenmann played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Owsiak in the 93rd minute of play. Despite being the better team, Fire Devils failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
