Aurelio Walme showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfredo Stefano in the 8th minute of the match. 9 minutes into the match, Castanheiro SC's goalkeeper Tales Brito had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Owsiak. Tales Brito made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lei Feng Yan in the 9th minute of play. In the 13th minute, Lei Feng Yan reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Tales Brito. The goal made the score 1-0. Castanheiro SC's Tales Brito proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Castanheiro SC from getting a goal against them. Tales Brito came out of the goal in the 23rd minute to try and stop a shot by S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Daniel Owsiak. But to his dismay, Daniel Owsiak quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Aurelio Walme didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alfredo Stefano went, in the 29th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. José Pedro Carneiro hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Castanheiro SC's Tales Brito got control of the ball when Ricardinho de Senna tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 35th minute of the match S.E.R. Caxias do Sul got a corner. Castanheiro SC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Lei Feng Yan ran over to the corner to take the kick. After 38 minutes S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was 陶渊伟 who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Osvaldo Velloso almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Aurelio Walme did a great save. In the 40th minute Alfredo Stefano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aurelio Walme saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. José Pedro Carneiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lei Feng Yan in the 47th minute of play forced Castanheiro SC's goalkeeper Tales Brito to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alfredo Stefano made a kick off. Tales Brito didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ricardinho de Senna went, in the 55th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. Tales Brito took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Renato Augusto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of S.E.R. Caxias do Sul booed when Castanheiro SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Osvaldo Velloso didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Daniel Owsiak had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 63 minutes of play, Castanheiro SC's Alfredo Stefano made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Aurelio Walme was left in no man's land by his defense there! Tales Brito came out of the goal in the 66th minute to try and stop a shot by S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Daniel Owsiak. But to his dismay, Daniel Owsiak quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-2. Tales Brito showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ricardinho de Senna, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. After some careless play in the S.E.R. Caxias do Sul defense, Alfredo Stefano kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Aurelio Walme. The S.E.R. Caxias do Sul fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Aurelio Walme should have stopped the shot. The S.E.R. Caxias do Sul fans' excitement grew in the 79th match minute when S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Renato Augusto looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 5-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 85 minutes into the match, Castanheiro SC's goal looked a bit too open when Lei Feng Yan came free, but Tales Brito reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tales Brito took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Owsiak, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. S.E.R. Caxias do Sul fully deserved thier win.
