After 73 minutes of play, Valencia C.F.'s Joe Herring made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benedykt Kolacki was left in no man's land by his defense there! Valencia C.F.'s Tuncay Candeğer was substituted for Alfred Claydon. Konstanty Koczara's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jerry Lodge read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 79th minute of play. Konstanty Koczara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The attack was good, but when Konstanty Koczara in the 81st minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. In the 94th minute Emil Lipinski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jerry Lodge saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 96 minutes into the game, Konstanty Koczara cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Jerry Lodge was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
