With an extended leg and a bit of luck Peter Schmeichel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Peter Schmeichel was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Nestor Bâru showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 9 minute of play. Nestor Bâru might have been able to make a better finish in the 14th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Peter Schmeichel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nestor Bâru ran back to his position shaking his head. With a little luck, A.C. Patagonia's Peter Schmeichel got control of the ball when Nestor Bâru tried to sneak it across the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nestor Bâru in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Peter Schmeichel saved A.C. Patagonia from getting behind. When the match had gone on for 21 minutes, Nestor Bâru took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Peter Schmeichel to make any attempt to save it. 26 minutes into the game, Clodoveo Orlin threw the ball into play from the sideline. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
