He was immediately shown a red card. In the 40th minute, one of FC COSA NOSTRA:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for FC COSA NOSTRA. Edwin van der Sar made an important save on a dangerous shot by Artūras Ronaldo in the 44th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eero Uusipaavalniemi in the 48th minute of play forced FC COSA NOSTRA's goalkeeper Erikas Mikoliūnas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Erikas Mikoliūnas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eero Uusipaavalniemi, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. In the 48th minute, Eero Uusipaavalniemi ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Erikas Mikoliūnas was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The Manchester United FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. Manchester United FC made a substitution. Pietari Puhakainen replaced Alfred Laulaja. A collision led to Manchester United FC getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Pietari Puhakainen hit a great ball. Erikas Mikoliūnas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Davide Beckham in the 73rd minute of the match.
