The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th minute Victor Huștiu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Txatxu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thomás Linares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anibal Lluques, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. 10 minutes into the game, Sandu Gheorghiu recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Paulo Txatxu. Sandu Gheorghiu showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Thomás Linares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Horacio Dolfo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 21 minutes into the match, ASF BAIA MARE -MM-'s goal looked a bit too open when Anibal Lluques came free, but Thomás Linares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Victor Huștiu took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Paulo Txatxu. Paulo Txatxu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. The Q. T. I. fans' excitement grew in the 29th match minute when Q. T. I.'s Anibal Lluques looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Paulo Txatxu made a fantastic save in the 32nd minute, when Victor Huștiu sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Raymundo in the 35th minute of play forced ASF BAIA MARE -MM-'s goalkeeper Thomás Linares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Paulo Txatxu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Remus Vermeşan in the 38th minute of play. The ASF BAIA MARE -MM- players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Q. T. I. were winning 2-3.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Remus Vermeşan to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Remus Vermeşan in the 51st minute of play forced Q. T. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Anibal Lluques in the 93rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Thomás Linares saved ASF BAIA MARE -MM- from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sandu Gheorghiu in the 94th minute of play forced Q. T. I.'s goalkeeper Paulo Txatxu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Casimiro Guillelmus sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Q. T. I. walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
