Ove Salkvist started the match with the kick off. In the 5th minute Bennvar Post shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Isaac Jonasson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Isaac Jonasson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bennvar Post, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. Pål Sefastsson was out of position in the 9 minute of play, and Ove Salkvist capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Ove Salkvist really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. The corner led BK Gubbhöft's Ove Salkvist to a score. 3-0 in the 13th minute. In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind National Team Cape-Verde's goalkeeper Pål Sefastsson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Pål Sefastsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ove Salkvist in the 22nd minute of the match. After having played for 28 minutes, Ove Salkvist managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. BK Gubbhöft's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ove Salkvist was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 37th minute Ove Salkvist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pål Sefastsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ciro Incendio charged in rather forcefully in the 42nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ciro Incendio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. National Team Cape-Verde's Bengt Sellberg was substituted for Tymoteusz Watarz. Ove Salkvist struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Pål Sefastsson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for BK Gubbhöft. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Carlos Alberto Tevez stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of National Team Cape-Verde booed when BK Gubbhöft was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ove Salkvist didn't get a good kick on the ball. 57 minutes into the match, National Team Cape-Verde's goal looked a bit too open when Ove Salkvist came free, but Pål Sefastsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 58th minute of the match BK Gubbhöft got a corner. National Team Cape-Verde's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ciro Incendio ran over to the corner to take the kick. BK Gubbhöft's Simone Panetti was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Pål Sefastsson in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. BK Gubbhöft made a substitution. Hans-Georg Luabunnum replaced Ove Salkvist. BK Gubbhöft's attentive Bernard Solarek managed to snatch the ball when Henrik Örnberg made a throw-in in the 63rd minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hans-Georg Luabunnum in the 67th minute of play forced National Team Cape-Verde's goalkeeper Pål Sefastsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pål Sefastsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hans-Georg Luabunnum in the 74th minute of play. In the 79th minute Hans-Georg Luabunnum shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pål Sefastsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hans-Georg Luabunnum in the 81st minute of play forced National Team Cape-Verde's goalkeeper Pål Sefastsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to BK Gubbhöft getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Brian Alströmmer hit a great ball. Pål Sefastsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hans-Georg Luabunnum, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A sloppy throw-in by Yin Yang Wei in the 91st minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by BK Gubbhöft's Brian Alströmmer. In the 95th minute, Yin Yang Wei hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the National Team Cape-Verde defense, Hans-Georg Luabunnum kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pål Sefastsson. The National Team Cape-Verde fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pål Sefastsson should have stopped the shot. For all the effort they put into the match, the National Team Cape-Verde players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for BK Gubbhöft.
