An unexpectedly hard shot by Bennvar Post in the 10th minute of play forced Rönnöfors FF's goalkeeper Magne Gunnarsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 12 minutes into the game, Per Tunström cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Pål Sefastsson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Magne Gunnarsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bennvar Post, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. The audience was convinced that Fredric Melander's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Magne Gunnarsson was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Per Tunström got free with Pål Sefastsson in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 30 minutes into the match, National Team Cape-Verde's goal looked a bit too open when Henry Fagerberg came free, but Pål Sefastsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 39 played minutes Rönnöfors FF got a freekick which was hit by Arne Stor. Pål Sefastsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Henry Fagerberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Henry Fagerberg to make the kick off. The supporters of Rönnöfors FF booed when National Team Cape-Verde was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. National Team Cape-Verde's Leon Fasgar was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Magne Gunnarsson in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Henry Fagerberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pål Sefastsson having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in National Team Cape-Verde's zone, Henry Fagerberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pål Sefastsson came out of the goal and Henry Fagerberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Henry Fagerberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Rönnöfors FF's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
