Viktor Pettersson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Loco Durazno in the 18th minute of the match. Golden Lions FC were awarded a corner in the 19th minute after Skövde AIK's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Walter Closet took the corner. After taking down the ball on Golden Lions FC's corner Walter Closet fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Viktor Pettersson quite easily take care of the ball. Chen Ao Fan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Anders Lundqvist made a huge save. The audience was convinced that Loco Durazno's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Viktor Pettersson was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. Golden Lions FC's Anders Lundqvist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kevin Keegan in the 26th minute of play. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Viktor Pettersson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Anders Lundqvist made an important save on a dangerous shot by Chen Ao Fan in the 32nd minute. With his leg Anders Lundqvist managed to avoid a goal in the 37thth minute, when Skövde AIK's Kurt Hamrin fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chen Ao Fan in the 43rd minute of play forced Golden Lions FC's goalkeeper Anders Lundqvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Chen Ao Fan spun around in front of the goal 43 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Golden Lions FC's goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Chen Ao Fan was the one to do the kick off. Loco Durazno in the 55thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Viktor Pettersson, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 55 minutes into the game, Filip Brolin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. In the 57th minute of the match, Loco Durazno tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Viktor Pettersson saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 59 minutes into the match, Golden Lions FC's goal looked a bit too open when Kevin Keegan came free, but Anders Lundqvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Krister Uggstedt hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Skövde AIK's Jerry Williams was substituted for Kurt Hamrin. A collision led to Golden Lions FC getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Georg Termander hit a great ball. Golden Lions FC's Mats Nyström was substituted for Walter Closet. The supporters of Skövde AIK booed when Golden Lions FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Georg Termander didn't get a good kick on the ball. Viktor Pettersson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bebben Johansson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kevin Keegan in the 80th minute of play forced Golden Lions FC's goalkeeper Anders Lundqvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 85thth minute of the game Jerry Williams who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Golden Lions FC's Anders Lundqvist was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Viktor Pettersson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Burç Tokhan, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. Golden Lions FC's Burç Tokhan got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Skövde AIK's defense didn't have a chance, in the 94th minute, when İbrahim Efe Topdemir scored to the left of an out of position Viktor Pettersson, making the score, 1-3. The Golden Lions FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
