The referee ignored Compostela FSCMZ's protests and gave Oswaldo Cabral a yellow card for diving instead. In the 69th minute Doru Găvănescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Virgílio Miranda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Compostela FSCMZ defense, Doriva Nóbrega kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Virgílio Miranda. The Compostela FSCMZ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Virgílio Miranda should have stopped the shot.
