After a rather tough play, FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's Gavril Niculiță got a free kick in the 16th minute. 19 minutes into the match, Jordan F1 91-05's Gunnar Nilsson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Karl-Ove Andersson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Szczepan Szablewski was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Karl-Ove Andersson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gunnar Nilsson in the 23rd minute of play. In the 27th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's goalkeeper Karl-Ove Andersson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a little luck, FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's Karl-Ove Andersson got control of the ball when Gunnar Nilsson tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 38th minute of the match Jordan F1 91-05 got a corner. FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Matthias Colin ran over to the corner to take the kick. Matthias Colin made a great header on Jordan F1 91-05's corner, it was just that FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's Karl-Ove Andersson managed to reach the ball for a save. Karl-Ove Andersson made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Nazeer Mhlathe sent off a good shot on target. 43 minutes into the game, Jordan F1 91-05's Gunnar Nilsson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Karl-Ove Andersson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. With a little luck, FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's Karl-Ove Andersson got control of the ball when Gunnar Nilsson tried to sneak it across the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Liviu Sbârcea to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Nazeer Mhlathe ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. The corner ended in Stefan Johansson almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's Karl-Ove Andersson did a great save. After some careless play in the FC UNIREA Alba Iulia defense, Nazeer Mhlathe kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Karl-Ove Andersson. The FC UNIREA Alba Iulia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Karl-Ove Andersson should have stopped the shot. Nazeer Mhlathe's late challenge caught a FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nazeer Mhlathe helped the player get up and apologised. Gunnar Nilsson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Karl-Ove Andersson having to make a save. Karl-Ove Andersson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gunnar Nilsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. After a rather tough play, Jordan F1 91-05's Ronnie Peterson got a free kick in the 69th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Liviu Sbârcea managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's supporters rose to their feet, but Liviu Sbârcea was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Max Dahlgren breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gunnar Nilsson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Karl-Ove Andersson having to make a save.
