In the 12th match minute, Galo do Japi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fernandinho Pinheiro to maneuver through the defense. 14 minutes into the match, Galo do Japi's goal looked a bit too open when Washington Sarmento came free, but Delfim Chaves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 92nd match minute, Galo do Japi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Souto to maneuver through the defense. Xuacu Xuan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Catarinense, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With an all-out effort, Brasiliense FC's Delfim Chaves threw himself towards the right post 97 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Washington Sarmento, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Galo do Japi fans cheered their team off the field, for while Brasiliense FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
