Texeira Adan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Willy Reynolds in the 2nd minute of play. 10 minutes into the match, Esmeraldas S.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Sebastian Caicedo came free, but Aguinaga Nebot reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bohórquez España kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. After 12 played minutes, Esmeraldas S.C.'s Stefanos Terzopoulos shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Texeira Adan came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Esmeraldas S.C. reached it. In the 18th minute Willy Reynolds shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Texeira Adan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Texeira Adan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oskar Petersson in the 22nd minute of the match. Texeira Adan made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Oskar Petersson sent off a good shot on target. Esmeraldas S.C.'s Aguinaga Nebot played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sebastian Caicedo in the 25th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Hogwarts's zone, Damian Maftei stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Texeira Adan came out of the goal and Damian Maftei tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 32 minutes into the match, Hogwarts's goal looked a bit too open when Willy Reynolds came free, but Texeira Adan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Texeira Adan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Stefanos Terzopoulos in the 33rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Willy Reynolds in the 37th minute of play forced Hogwarts's goalkeeper Texeira Adan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Texeira Adan didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Damian Maftei went, in the 40th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Texeira Adan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Martinez Cines in the 43rd minute of play. In the 47th minute Oskar Petersson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Texeira Adan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Csaba Tar made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pinto Cubria in the 53rd minute of play forced Hogwarts's goalkeeper Texeira Adan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Esmeraldas S.C. were awarded a corner in the 55th minute after Hogwarts's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Stefanos Terzopoulos took the corner. Esmeraldas S.C.'s Aguinaga Nebot proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save Esmeraldas S.C. from getting a goal against them. Aguinaga Nebot made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Adrian Oces sent off a good shot on target. Tercero Moraina's late challenge caught a Esmeraldas S.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tercero Moraina helped the player get up and apologised. In the 60th minute Willy Reynolds shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Texeira Adan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
