In the 5th minute Arnulfo Roderigo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nikifor Vekov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 6 minutes into the match, JET-M's goal looked a bit too open when Ahmet Refik Ülgü came free, but Nikifor Vekov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 8th minute Ahmet Refik Ülgü shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nikifor Vekov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 9th minute of the match, Ren Xi Liang tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Georgi Velinov saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Nikifor Vekov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Georgi Dimitrov, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. When Bradley de Nooijer came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the FC CSKA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bradley de Nooijer couldn't finish the play. Ahmet Refik Ülgü received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Nikifor Vekov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ahmet Refik Ülgü was the one to do the kick off. In the last second Nikifor Vekov throw himself and got hold of the ball when Arnulfo Roderigo in the 51stth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Nikifor Vekov made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ahmet Refik Ülgü in the 61st minute. Zhivko Shpatov's late challenge caught a FC CSKA's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tzoko Pastúrmadzhiev got free with Nikifor Vekov in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Bradley de Nooijer hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match.
