The Maritza fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Danail Mitzakov should have stopped the shot. Georgi Dimitrov kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Danail Mitzakov stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ahmet Refik Ülgü's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for FC CSKA. With a little luck, FC CSKA's Georgi Velinov got control of the ball when Marin Nikolkov tried to sneak it across the goal line. After the first half FC CSKA were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 82nd match minute, FC CSKA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Georgi Dimitrov to maneuver through the defense. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. FC CSKA had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
