Spectators: 36 (Terracing: 28, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Palermo's Santiago Mino started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Santiago Mino in the 7th minute of play forced SAN LORENZO FC's goalkeeper Dario Astigar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Victorino Francis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rafael Tiniebra, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Victorino Francis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lisandro Nuñez in the 12th minute of play. Marcelino Chaime kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind Palermo's goalkeeper Victorino Francis, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 23rd play minutes Lisandro Nuñez shot 2-0, a short shot which went by Victorino Francis and just under the crossbar into goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnoldo Medina in the 26th minute of play forced SAN LORENZO FC's goalkeeper Dario Astigar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 28 minutes into the match, Santiago Mino notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of SAN LORENZO FC's Dario Astigar. Dario Astigar was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. SAN LORENZO FC's Lisandro Nuñez got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dario Astigar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arnoldo Medina, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lisandro Nuñez charged in rather forcefully in the 41st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lisandro Nuñez the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Lisandro Nuñez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Victorino Francis made a huge save. A collision led to SAN LORENZO FC getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Artur Quintas hit a great ball. With a little luck, Palermo's Victorino Francis got control of the ball when Lisandro Nuñez tried to sneak it across the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

Ciriaco Cordarrell replaced Lisandro Nuñez. Palermo's Victorino Francis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ciriaco Cordarrell in the 76th minute of play. Rafael Tiniebra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Patryk Wiater hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. Many of Palermo's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Palermo may have spent more time on the ball, but SAN LORENZO FC were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
