The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Benet Rano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 2nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maurilio Duque having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Laércio de Andrade in the 6th minute of play forced Nova Soccer's goalkeeper Maurilio Duque to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Nova Soccer getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Lucas Horna hit a great ball. Benet Rano scored 0-1 in the 14th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Maurilio Duque, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Maurilio Duque took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Laércio de Andrade, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 19th minute Laércio de Andrade shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maurilio Duque saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Laércio de Andrade in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Maurilio Duque saved Nova Soccer from getting behind. Geronimo Rulli took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Donat Collier, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Internacional getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Marian Swoboda hit a great ball. 26 minutes into the match, Nova Soccer's Zenaido Aramoyana sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Geronimo Rulli narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 29 minutes into the game, Internacional's Laércio de Andrade nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Maurilio Duque made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. A nice corner shot did that Zenaido Aramoyana got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Geronimo Rulli quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Maurilio Duque showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benet Rano in the 37th minute of the match. Laércio de Andrade might have been able to make a better finish in the 38th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Maurilio Duque. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Laércio de Andrade ran back to his position shaking his head. Nova Soccer's Maurilio Duque played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Laércio de Andrade in the 38th minute of play. Laércio de Andrade struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Maurilio Duque didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Internacional. The Nova Soccer players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Internacional were winning 0-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Laércio de Andrade was the one to do the kick off. Maurilio Duque made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Laércio de Andrade in the 51st minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Laércio de Andrade kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Maurilio Duque. That made the score 0-3 in the 51 minute of play. Laércio de Andrade could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Maurilio Duque made a huge save. In the 55th minute Internacional were awarded a corner. Ege Deniz went to the cornerflag to take it. Steve Hyuga took the ball and in the 59 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Geronimo Rulli. Geronimo Rulli dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. 62 minutes into the match, Nova Soccer's goal looked a bit too open when Laércio de Andrade came free, but Maurilio Duque reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 64thth minute of the game Laércio de Andrade who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Nova Soccer's Maurilio Duque was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Maurilio Duque made a fantastic save in the 66th minute, when Laércio de Andrade sent off a good shot on target. 66 minutes into the match, Laércio de Andrade dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Maurilio Duque, 1-4. Internacional made a substitution. Evaristo Costa replaced Laércio de Andrade. Internacional made a substitution. Edward Groth replaced Sahnoyan Cakir. The audience thought a goal was coming when Evaristo Costa got free with Maurilio Duque in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 73 minutes into the game, Evaristo Costa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-5. Maurilio Duque was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 87th play minute Evaristo Costa came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Maurilio Duque. 1-6. Evaristo Costa in the 93rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Maurilio Duque, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 94th minute, Dumitru Șişman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 95th minute, Evaristo Costa made a precise shot to the right of Maurilio Duque. Nova Soccer's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-7. The Internacional supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Internacional would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
