Tomas Abello who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 93rdth minute tested the skills of Quinito Abellaneda when he managed to save the team from getting behind. During the 94th minute of the match Honorio Abecia completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Honorio Abecia a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 95 played minutes Sporting Cristal got a freekick which was hit by Honorio Abecia. Wyatt Jeffers struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Quinito Abellaneda didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Nacional Potosí.
