The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Feyyaz Erol in the 7th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Augusto Vergílio saved Lamento Boliviano from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Feyyaz Erol in the 9th minute of play forced Lamento Boliviano's goalkeeper Augusto Vergílio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pepsi Fuchibol Clu's Stéphane Brault played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jos Musseeuw in the 12th minute of play. If Algimantas Tarasevičius had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Lamento Boliviano booed when Pepsi Fuchibol Clu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lizer Abadie didn't get a good kick on the ball. Stéphane Brault was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Feyyaz Erol received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Augusto Vergílio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lamento Boliviano's Ingvar Vollander was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Stéphane Brault in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Lamento Boliviano walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
